No Warning Farm

Finally.  After years of frustrating attempts, we have a foundation and an actual start date for the framing, siding, and window and door installation.  When we got the call from DC Builders that they were going to be on location on February 11, it felt oddly sudden and surprising, as if we hadn't been working towards this for almost three years.  It's almost exactly one year since we obtained a permit and it took most of 2019 to find the excavator, concrete guy, electrician and plumber required to even get to the point of building.  We have learned a lot acting as our own General Contractor, and we will save a bundle in money if not time, but if we had ever thought a GC was just there to idly collect a hefty fee, we know better now.
